US Navy ships and aircraft attacked Houthi command-and-control facilities and sites used for the production and storage of modern weapons, including missiles and drones.
"These facilities were being used in Houthi operations, such as attacks on US Navy warships and commercial vessels in the southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden," the statement read.
Additionally, US aircraft destroyed a coastal radar station and seven cruise missiles and attack drones over the Red Sea.
CENTCOM noted that there were no casualties among US personnel or damage to equipment in both incidents.
The US military emphasized that these strikes are part of efforts to reduce the capabilities of the Iran-backed Houthis in attempts to threaten regional partners and commercial shipping in the region.
On November 8, 2024, the US conducted strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen and on sites in Syria as part of a mission to defeat ISIS.
On December 26, the Israel Defense Forces reported carrying out strikes on Yemen. The Israeli military claimed that the targets were "infrastructure used by the Houthi terrorist regime for military activity" at Sana'a airport.
