US nears completion of military buildup off Iran’s coast Tension Surges
The United States military buildup in the Gulf is set to be completed in the coming days, US officials stated.
A US official indicated that current efforts are focused on preparation, Caliber.Az reports per American media.
"The directive at the moment is to prepare, but it looks like the President will reach another decision point on Iran in the coming days," the source added.
As part of the military buildup in the Middle East, the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group, a squadron of F-15 fighter jets, and C-17 transport aircraft have already arrived in the region.
Earlier, Trump stated that a large military fleet was heading toward Iran. He expressed hope that Tehran would agree to negotiations and reach a “fair and equitable” deal, implying a full renunciation of nuclear weapons.
The US president also recalled that last June, the United States struck nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic as part of the “Midnight Hammer” operation, warning that the next attack “will be far worse” and urging action to avert such an outcome.
Iran’s Supreme Leader advisor Ali Shamkhani warned that Tehran would view any US aggressive actions as the start of a full-scale war and that a response would not be delayed.
