US sees North Korean missile launch as threat to region
The US authorities are sure that the launch of the North Korean missile poses a danger to the region, and urge Pyongyang to start a dialogue.
“The United States condemns the North Korean ballistic missile launch. It violates numerous UN Security Council resolutions and poses a threat to North Korea's neighbours and the international community. We remain committed to a diplomatic approach regarding North Korea and encourage it to engage in dialogue. Our commitment to the defence of the Republic of Korea and Japan remains unchanged,” TASS quotes a US State Department spokesperson as saying on September 25.
Earlier, Japanese Defence Minister Yasukazu Hamada noted that the ballistic missile launched by North Korea on September 25 flew about 400 km at a maximum altitude of 50 km.
He added that a strong protest was expressed to the North Korean side through the embassy in Beijing.
