Washington urges Iran to stop strikes on Iraq
The United States accused the Iranian authorities of violating Iraq's territorial integrity due to strikes on its territory. Washington condemned Tehran's actions and called on it to stop the strikes.
In a statement posted on its website on November 22, the US State Department said: "Iran’s violations of Iraqi territorial integrity continue with lethal attacks carried out against the Iraqi Kurdistan Region from November 20 through 22. The United States strongly condemns these repeated and brazen violations of Iraq’s territorial integrity and calls on Iran to refrain from further threats and violence."
On November 21 and 22, Iran launched missile strikes on Iraqi Kurdistan. From where, according to Tehran, assistance is provided to protesters in Iran. The commander of the IRGC ground forces, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, threatened that attacks on "anti-Iranian separatist groups" in northern Iraq would continue, and called for the evacuation of civilians from the surrounding area.
