Western Azerbaijan Community demands US investigate Adam Schiff's corrupt ties to Armenian lobby
The Western Azerbaijan Community has strongly condemned another anti-Azerbaijani draft law presented by pro-Armenian Congressman Adam Schiff in the US Congress on September 18.
“This bill is provocative in both name and content. Adam Schiff's traditional anti-Azerbaijani stance and his corrupt ties to the Armenian lobby call into question his integrity, as in the case of another corruption-ridden Azerbaijanophobe, former Senator Bob Menendez,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the Community’s statement.
“Given that Karabakh Armenians voluntarily left the country, rejecting the Azerbaijani state's offers of reintegration and citizenship, Schiff's bill is based on slander,” the statement reads.
The statement further highlighted Schiff's history of turning a blind eye to the forced eviction of Azerbaijanis from Armenia: "Adam Schiff turned a blind eye and even supported the forced eviction of 300,000 Azerbaijanis from Armenia and 700,000 people from the formerly occupied territories of Azerbaijan, damage worth hundreds of billions of dollars to the property of Azerbaijanis, the economy and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. All this shows that the draft law is an attempt to blackmail Azerbaijan."
The community stated that such actions are aimed at undermining US-Azerbaijani relations.
"We demand that the US Congress reject this provocative bill and investigate Adam Schiff's corrupt ties with the Armenian lobby," the statement read.
