WSJ: Hostage exchange in Gaza hits a roadblock
The Palestinian radical movement Hamas has failed to provide information about some of the 50 hostages who were expected to be released later today, The Wall Street Journal wrote, citing officials in the United States and the Middle East.
While Hamas provided names, genders, and nationalities for most of the hostages, information about some of the 50 individuals was missing, the WSJ said. This complicated and delayed their release from the Gaza Strip, the newspaper added.
In turn, Israel’s public broadcaster Kan said that the delay was caused by the fact that Hamas had decided to make last-minute changes to its agreement with Israel.
Last night, Tzachi Hanegbi, who serves as Israel's National Security Adviser, said that no hostages would be released from the Gaza Strip before Friday, November 24.
