Yemen starts mobilisation to send troops to Gaza Strip
Member of the Ansar Allah Political Bureau Hizam al-Assad has said that the authorities in northern Yemen, where the Shiite Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) rules, are conducting a general mobilisation to prepare the army for combat operations in the Gaza Strip.
The mobilisation is being held to support the Palestinian people in the armed conflict with Israel, Hizam al-Assad said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The Houthis have opened training camps. Tens of thousands of people are trained.
Hizam al-Assad said that the Palestinian people of Gaza were "subjected to genocide by Israel" backed by the US.
Al-Assad emphasised that the Republic of Yemen has a regular army and developed military potential, so the mobilised people undergoing training will not participate in hostilities in northern Yemen.
