Zelenskyy convenes emergency talks after missile strikes on energy infrastructure PHOTO
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, convened an urgent videoconference with regional leaders to assess the impact of last night’s missile attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure.
According to Zelenskyy, Russia continues to target critical infrastructure despite ongoing diplomatic efforts by international partners.
Ukraine’s air defences successfully intercepted the strikes, but the President stressed that the attacks underscore the need for increased diplomatic pressure on Russia and concrete security guarantees for Ukraine.

“Each Russian missile is the aggressor’s response to calls to end the war. That is why we insist: only with sufficient pressure on Russia and clear security guarantees can Ukraine realistically bring this war to an end,” Zelenskyy stated.
The President instructed Anatoliy Kryvonozhko, Minister of Defence Mykhailo Fedorov, and head of Ukrenergo Vitaliy Zaychenko to prepare additional protective measures based on intelligence regarding potential large-scale attacks.
Zelenskyy also reviewed the situation across Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Kropyvnytskyi regions, as well as in Kyiv and Ternopil. The heating assistance programme in Kharkiv will be expanded to approximately 90,000 packages.

Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal reported preparations for an energy-focused “Ramstein” meeting in France, involving G7 countries, the US, Canada, the EU, and partners from Northern Europe and the Baltic states.
Discussions are expected to cover Ukraine’s specific energy needs, measures to support the sector, and the acceleration of missile deliveries for air defences, which remains a top priority for all relevant Ukrainian institutions.
