Zelenskyy heads to Davos despite earlier cancellation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on his way to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, despite earlier reports that his appearance had been canceled, his office confirmed on January 22.
The president's office confirmed that the Ukrainian leader is now traveling to Davos, where he intends to pursue talks with US President Donald Trump, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
On January 20, reports came that Zelenskyy had been forced to remain in Kyiv following a nighttime missile attack on the capital, which led to the cancellation of his planned participation in the forum and the scrapping of a proposed signing of a so-called “prosperity plan” with US President Donald Trump.
Zelenskyy has previously emphasised that any engagement with the US side on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum must deliver concrete outcomes aimed at strengthening support for Ukraine.
