Kyrgyz MP reported missing by his colleague after police stop
A Kyrgyz member of parliament has fallen off the radar after approaching the state border with Kazakhstan.
As the Kyrgyz branch of Sputik reported, another member of parliament, Elvira Surabaldiyeva has shared this news on her official Twitter account, stating that her colleague Chingiz Aydarbekov remains missing while another parliamentarian Emil Zhamgirchiyev has been detained by state service authorities at the border to Kazakhstan.
She further added that the two men were on their way to attend a funeral when they were stopped at a checkpoint by police. It turned out that Zhamgirchiyev was handed a travel ban previously and was denied leaving the country. "Aydarbekov is nowhere to be found, we cannot find him. He is out of reach since yesterday. Security services are silent".
According to Sputnik Kyrgyzstan, the state service has not yet issued a comment on this issue.
