Polish envoy: NATO military stockpile being depleted as it helps Ukraine

28 November 2022 13:40

Poland's Ambassador to NATO Tomasz Szatkowski has said that the alliance's warehouses with weapons and equipment are depleting due to the assistance to Ukraine.

The ambassador made the remarks on the air of RMF FM radio station.

NATO countries have recently been less active in transferring weapons to Ukraine, among other reasons, because the alliance's warehouses with weapons and military equipment had started to get empty, he said, adding that many countries have faced this problem.

"The NATO secretary general goes quite far in his declarations or appeals because he argues that in some cases it is much more significant for our security to transfer equipment to Ukraine than to maintain certain norms, such as those proposed by the North Atlantic Alliance when it comes to military equipment stockpiles," Szatkowski said.
