Azerbaijan cuts ratio of external public debt to GDP

    Azerbaijan's external public debt to gross domestic product (GDP) ratio reached 8.6 per cent in 2022.

    The statement came from the country’s Finance Minister Samir Sharifov at a meeting of the ministry's Collegiate Board, Report informs, citing the Finance Ministry.

    "Last year was also noted by a significant reduction in external debt and development of the domestic debt market. This work was carried out based on the ‘Medium and Long Term Public Debt Management Strategy’ document approved by a presidential decree in 2018 and updated at the end of last year," he said.
