Azerbaijan boosts investment in Georgia fivefold in early 2025
Azerbaijan significantly expanded its direct investment in Georgia’s economy in the first quarter of 2025, reaching $30.4 million, five times higher than the same period last year, according to data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
This surge in investment raised the share of Azerbaijani capital in Georgia’s economy from 1.8% to 9.7% of Azerbaijan’s total foreign direct investment during the reporting period, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
In the same timeframe, Georgia’s direct investment in Azerbaijan also saw moderate growth, totalling $10.2 million — a 10.7% increase compared to the first quarter of 2024.
As a result, the share of Georgian investment in Azerbaijan’s total inbound foreign direct investment increased slightly, from 0.6% to 0.7%.
