Azerbaijani official, UAE’s Etisalat discuss telecom cooperation
Azerbaijan’s Digital Development and Transport Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with Jassim Mohammed, Chairman of Etisalat, one of the world’s leading telecommunications and technology companies during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Minister Nabiyev highlighted the key outcomes of the meeting, including discussions on collaboration in telecommunications and urban mobility, as well as preparations for the upcoming COP29 climate summit in Baku, Caliber.Az reports.
“We expressed our gratitude to the company’s leadership for sharing the valuable experience they gained at COP28 in Dubai with us for the organisation of COP29 in Baku,” Nabiyev said.

The sides reportedly discussed the exchange of expertise in the telecom sector, advisory support, and opportunities for broader future cooperation.
“At the same time, we exchanged views on projects being implemented in the field of urban transportation,” the minister added.
Minister Nabiyev also extended an official invitation to Etisalat’s leadership to participate in the upcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), scheduled to take place in Baku from November 17 to 28, 2025.
