Net foreign assets of Azerbaijani banks decline, while domestic assets urge
As of July 1, 2025, the net foreign assets of Azerbaijani banks totaled 26.12 billion manats ($15.36 billion), according to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
This figure represents a 12.3% decrease compared to the previous month and a 1.8% drop since the beginning of the year. Despite the decline, the net foreign assets were still 5.4% higher than on the same date in 2024, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
In contrast, net domestic assets saw substantial growth, reaching 22.35 billion manats ($13.14 billion). This marks a 20.7% increase from the previous month, a 12.4% rise since the beginning of the year, and a 10.1% gain year-on-year.
At present, 22 banks operate in Azerbaijan, holding total assets worth 56.73 billion manats ($33.36 billion).
