Azerbaijani economy minister hails SOCAR Carbamide’s digital leap with industrial AI

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has highlighted the results of SOCAR Carbamide’s digital transformation, describing the initiative as an example of how advanced technologies can modernize industrial production.

The transformation at SOCAR Carbamide has been underway since 2023 as part of a strategic partnership with US-based consulting firm McKinsey, Jabbarov said in a post on X, Caliber.Az reports.

“SOCAR’s 2.5-year digital transformation at SOCAR Carbamide, launched in 2023 in strategic partnership with McKinsey, demonstrates the significant potential of Industrial AI, in-house digital platforms, and innovative technological solutions to modernize industrial operations.

Through the development of platforms such as EnergyAI, the introduction of predictive-maintenance copilots and customized digital solutions, as well as capacity building through the SOCAR Digital Academy, the transformation has increased production, improved gas and energy efficiency, strengthened operational reliability, and supported the development of local talent.

The global significance of this successful transformation is further reflected in its prominent presentation on the front page of McKinsey’s global website. This international recognition highlights SOCAR Carbamide as an important example of how advanced technologies and local expertise can deliver measurable industrial impact.

The initiative builds on SOCAR's broader record of digital excellence, underscored by three World Economic Forum Digital Lighthouse recognitions — a distinction placing the company among a select group of global industrial leaders.
