07 August 2026 15:12

Azerbaijan reduced its imports of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from Türkiye in the first seven months of 2026, even as Türkiye’s overall exports in the sector continued to grow, according to official data.

Imports by Azerbaijan totalled $76.932 million in January–July, down 2.7% from the same period in 2025, Report news agency said, citing the Turkish Exporters Assembly.

In July alone, Turkish exports of ferrous and non-ferrous metals to Azerbaijan fell sharply by 34.9% year-on-year to $11.225 million.

By contrast, Türkiye’s global exports of these metals rose 12.8% in the January–July period to $8.608 billion. In July, exports increased 18.4% year-on-year to $1.405 billion.

Germany remained the largest importer of Turkish ferrous and non-ferrous metals, purchasing $1.034751 billion worth of shipments, up 13.7% year-on-year. Italy followed with $675.115 million, an increase of 6.7%, while Bulgaria imported $576.709 million, up 48.2%.
