Azerbaijan transports Russian wheat, coal to Armenia by rail PHOTO

A freight train carrying Russian wheat and coal to Armenia has departed from Bilajari station in Azerbaijan, travelling through Azerbaijani territory, according to Azerbaijan Railways.

The shipment consists of 25 wagons, including 15 carrying a total of 1,049 tons of wheat and 10 carrying 700 tons of coal, Caliber.Az reports per local media

The train is scheduled to pass through Azerbaijan’s Boyuk-Kasik railway station into Georgia before continuing on to Armenia.

To date, more than 37,000 tons of wheat, around 9,000 tons of fertilisers, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminium, 414 tons of anthracite and 67,000 tons of timber have been transported from Russia to Armenia in transit through Azerbaijan.

In addition, Azerbaijan has exported around 15,000 tons of diesel fuel and approximately 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline to Armenia.
