Haber Global: Azerbaijani natural gas supply brings hope to Aleppo VIDEO
The supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan through Türkiye to the Syrian city of Aleppo has been met with great joy by local residents, according to a program aired on Turkish Haber Global TV.
Aleppo, Syria’s second largest industrial city, has long struggled with shortages of electricity and natural gas. The recent arrival of Azerbaijani gas supplies has brought renewed optimism to the city and surrounding areas, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Residents expressed hope that, with proper infrastructure development, living standards in Aleppo will improve and life will return to normal.
"Aleppo is the second largest industrial city in Syria. I have a factory there, but I cannot start it because there is no electricity. Türkiye has helped us a lot. We are trying to get our work back on track, bring our families back to the city. The situation is improving every day," one resident stated.
Under the new arrangement, two billion cubic meters of natural gas will be delivered to Syria annually.
Syrians across Aleppo and other cities are hopeful that the steady supply of electricity will significantly enhance their quality of life in the near future.
