US diplomat: Washington, Baku expand space cooperation
U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Amy Carlon has visited the Main Ground Control Station of Azercosmos, Azerbaijan’s national space agency, to learn more about the country’s growing role in the global space sector, according to the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the embassy highlighted recent U.S. space achievements, noting that this month Washington successfully launched the 10-day Artemis II mission, the first crewed journey around the Moon in more than 50 years, describing it as evidence of continued U.S. leadership in space exploration and innovation, Caliber.Az reports.
The statement also emphasised expanding cooperation between the two countries in the space field, saying that the United States and Azerbaijan are strengthening ties to support innovation, connectivity, and shared prosperity through science and technology.
