Azerbaijan participates in transport forum in Bishkek
Azerbaijan has participated in the International Transport Forum titled “Kyrgyzstan – Regional Hub: Connecting Continents,” held in Bishkek, according to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, as reported by Caliber.Az.
Azerbaijan was represented at the event by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Javid Gurbanov.
Within the forum, the 9th meeting of transport ministers of the Organisation of Turkic States was also held.
Discussions focused on changes in global logistics chains, the increasing importance of alternative transport routes, and the expansion of cooperation within the Middle Corridor.
Participants noted that the Middle Corridor plays a key role in ensuring sustainable and diversified transport connectivity between regions. The importance of simplifying administrative procedures, harmonising regulatory requirements, and removing existing infrastructure bottlenecks was also emphasised to improve the corridor’s efficiency and competitiveness.
During the visit, Javid Gurbanov held a meeting with Türkiye's Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Durmuş Ünüvar, during which the two sides exchanged views on cooperation issues.
