Trans-Caspian transport corridor members boost trade, digital integration Photo
Representatives from countries along the Trans-Caspian corridor gathered in Astana for a two-day meeting of the Board of Directors and General Assembly of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), focusing on expanding freight capacity and advancing digital coordination across the route.
The event brought together officials from maritime and railway administrations, ports, and logistics companies across member states. Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation from the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), led by its Board Chairman, Afgan Jalilov, Caliber.Az reports.
Participants reviewed freight volume projections for 2025 and approved tariff frameworks for 2026, alongside broader discussions on logistics planning and operational efficiency. A key focus of the meeting was the digitalisation of multimodal transport, particularly in facilitating container shipments across ports and terminals on the Caspian Sea.
Delegates agreed to implement electronic document management systems using digital signatures and to enable direct data exchange between customs authorities and transport stakeholders, aiming to streamline cross-border operations and reduce transit times.
The meetings concluded with the signing of several agreements intended to strengthen cooperation and further develop the Trans-Caspian corridor as a vital trade route linking Asia and Europe.
