Azerbaijan-UK trade surges 3.7 times in first five months of 2025
The volume of mutual trade between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom soared to $520.9 million from January to May 2025, marking a 3.7-fold increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
As Caliber.Az reports, Azerbaijan’s exports to the UK saw a sharp rise, growing 4.4 times year-on-year to reach $139.8 million. This figure accounted for 1.27% of the country’s total exports during the reported period, up from just 0.29% in the first five months of 2024.
Imports from the United Kingdom also experienced significant growth, increasing 3.5 times to $381.1 million. The share of UK imports in Azerbaijan’s total import volume rose to 3.82%, compared to 1.5% during the same period last year.
The substantial increase reflects strengthening trade ties between the two countries and a growing demand for British goods and services in the Azerbaijani market.
