Azerbaijan highlights strategic role of small businesses on MSME day

Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has underscored the importance of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in driving sustainable economic growth, emphasising their role in employment, innovation, and economic diversification.

In a post on X marking Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Day on June 27, Jabbarov said MSMEs are playing an increasingly significant role in the global economy by creating inclusive employment opportunities, fostering innovation, and integrating into global value chains, Caliber.Az reports.

The minister said that further improving Azerbaijan's business environment—particularly by expanding state support measures for the non-oil and gas sector—remains a strategic priority. He added that strengthening MSMEs is essential to boosting sustainable economic growth and advancing the country's efforts to diversify its economy.
