Azerbaijan exports apples to Kyrgyzstan, Spain after 16 years
Azerbaijan exported 40,737 tonnes of apples worth $32.6 million in January–April this year, including shipments to Kyrgyzstan and Spain for the first time in 16 years, according to the State Statistics Committee.
The data showed apple exports increased by 22.5% in value and 5% in volume compared to the same period in 2025, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
During the reporting period, Russia remained the main destination, receiving 33,321 tonnes of apples (-7%) worth $26.3 million, which is 9% higher year-on-year. Uzbekistan imported 1,679 tonnes (+3.2 times) worth $2.1 million (+3.4 times).
For the first time in 16 years (with official foreign trade statistics publicly available from 2011), Azerbaijan also supplied apples to Kyrgyzstan (18.5 tonnes worth $12,000) and Spain (30 tonnes worth $41,000).
