Turkish official: Azerbaijan provides significant financial support to OIC
Azerbaijan is one of the most active members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and provides significant financial support to its activities, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Musa Kulaklıkaya has stated.
He said he had repeatedly witnessed Azerbaijan’s active support for the Islamic world during his work in international organisations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He called the 20th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States further evidence of Azerbaijan’s role in the organisation.
He also said Azerbaijan will host an upcoming summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
According to him, cities in Azerbaijan are regularly granted various statuses within the OIC framework, such as capitals of Islamic culture, youth capitals, and tourism capitals of the Islamic world, reflecting their prominent role in key projects of the organisation.
“Thus, Azerbaijan not only demonstrates its potential to the world but also serves as an example for other Muslim countries,” he stressed.
The Turkish official added that Azerbaijan holds a special place both within the OIC and in the wider Islamic world, noting what he described as a consistently positive and constructive approach from the country.
“We have always seen the positive and constructive approach of brotherly Azerbaijan,” he added.
He also said that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye within the OIC yields successful results, with both countries demonstrating solidarity in decisions related to the organisation’s activities.
“Azerbaijan and Türkiye achieve successful results through cooperation and solidarity in all areas, and I believe this solidarity will continue within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation,” he emphasised.
