Azerbaijan's crude exports via BTC pipeline weaken in H1 2026

Oil flows through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline across Türkiye fell by 8.4% in the first six months of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, according to data released by Turkish pipeline operator BOTAŞ.

According to local media, the pipeline transported 96.934 million barrels of crude oil between January and June, down by 8.874 million barrels from the first half of 2025.

Shipments also declined in June, when the BTC pipeline carried 16.398 million barrels of oil, a fall of 899,000 barrels, or 5.2%, compared with the same month last year.

The BTC pipeline remains one of the main expArt routes for Caspian crude. In 2025, it transported a total of 206.434 million barrels of oil across Türkiye.

The pipeline primarily carries crude from Azerbaijan's Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli (ACG) oilfields, condensate from the Shah Deniz gas field, and oil and condensate from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
