Azerbaijan Airlines launches first scheduled Baku–Kars service PHOTO

30 July 2026 18:00

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has operated its first scheduled flight on the Baku–Kars route, opening a new destination in Türkiye.

The inaugural flight arrived at Kars Harakani Airport, where it was welcomed with a ceremonial reception, Caliber.Az reports, citing the airline's press service.

The new route will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

AZAL said the launch of the service is expected to contribute to the development of tourism, business and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, while expanding travel opportunities between the two countries.

Türkiye remains Azerbaijan Airlines' largest international market. The carrier currently operates scheduled flights to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Bodrum, Trabzon, Dalaman, Adana and Kars.
