Azerbaijan, Russia explore stronger agricultural partnership PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Russia have discussed opportunities for cooperation in the agricultural sector as part of a meeting between Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov and the Russian President's aide, Ruslan Edelgeriev, who also serves as Special Representative on Climate and Water Resources, Azerbaijan's Agriculture Ministry has stated.
It said during the discussion, the two countries reviewed the current state of agricultural cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Both sides emphasised that, as in other areas of the economy, cooperation in agriculture is also developing.
They also considered issues such as the declining Caspian Sea level, modernisation of irrigation systems to save water resources (one of the main goals of Azerbaijan's new state program on agriculture), joint testing of drought- and disease-resistant plant varieties, and mutual participation in international exhibitions, fairs, and agricultural festivals held in both countries.
