Germany to send business delegation to Baku for cooperation talks

Germany is set to send a business delegation to Baku to explore partnership opportunities in infrastructure development, electric transport and energy storage technologies for renewable energy sources.

The visit is scheduled for December 7–10, 2026, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The event is being organised as part of the German Energy Export Initiative, implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

The business trip agenda includes individual B2B meetings with potential partners, presentations of German technological solutions during an industry conference and a roundtable for executives, as well as visits to specialised facilities and projects.

In addition, the second German-Azerbaijani Conference on Export Financing is planned to take place in October.

The move follows Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to Germany on July 21, during which the two countries signed a joint declaration on the establishment and operation of the Azerbaijan-German Business Council.

The council’s main objective is to create a permanent platform for direct dialogue between government bodies and business communities of both countries.

According to statistics from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, trade turnover between the two countries in the first half of 2026 decreased by 25.33% year-on-year (by $194.352 million) and amounted to $572.89 million.

Azerbaijan’s exports to Germany reached $234.778 million, declining by 26.7% over the year, while German exports to Azerbaijan totalled $338.111 million, down 24.35%.
