Azerbaijan presents social insurance reforms at conference in Tunisia PHOTO
Azerbaijan presented its experience and reforms in the field of pensions and social insurance at the 8th Arab Conference on Pensions and Social Insurance in Tunisia, the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) said.
The conference was held with the support of the World Bank, the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), with the participation of the Arab Social Security Association and MenaMoney, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Participants discussed pension and social insurance systems in Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ghana and other countries, as well as current challenges and future development priorities.
Zaka Mirzayev, Chairman of the Board of the SSPF, presented Azerbaijan’s reforms in the pension and social insurance sectors. Elshad Khanalibayli, head of the SSPF’s International Relations Department, moderated a session on global perspectives and future trends in pension systems.
During his visit, Mirzayev also met with Majid Ouni, Director-General of Tunisia’s National Pension and Social Security Fund, and MenaMoney’s executive director. The discussions focused on cooperation in pensions and social insurance, joint projects and expanding the exchange of expertise.
