Azerbaijan's Q2 gas output rises 1%
Azerbaijan produced more than 6.6 million metric tons of crude oil and 12.8 billion cubic metres of natural gas in the second quarter of 2026, with output supported by operations led by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the company said.
Fields developed by SOCAR, either independently or where it holds a majority stake, produced 1.7 million metric tons of oil and 1.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the April–June period, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Total natural gas production across Azerbaijan rose 1% year-on-year to 12.8 billion cubic meters, according to SOCAR.
The company also significantly expanded its drilling activity, with drilling volumes increasing 32.3% from the same period in 2025 to 24,000 meters.
Oil exports exceeded 3.3 million metric tons during the quarter, including SOCAR's own production and Azerbaijan's as well as SOCAR's share of profit oil from fields operated by international consortia.
Natural gas exports reached 6.3 billion cubic metres, up 0.5% from a year earlier, while domestic gas consumption increased 4.9% to approximately 2.5 billion cubic meters.
SOCAR said it processed more than 1.4 million metric tons of crude oil and 679 million cubic metres of natural gas during the quarter. Exports of petroleum, petrochemical and gas chemical products manufactured at the company's facilities in Azerbaijan totalled 556,400 metric tons.
