Azerbaijan builds new high-speed rail link to Khankendi Major reconstruction underway / PHOTOS
Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) is continuing reconstruction work on the Yevlakh–Barda railway line.
Demolition works on the 30-kilometre section, which began in May, have now been completed, the company told Caliber.Az.
The project envisages the construction of a total of 174 engineering structures, including 4 bridges, 12 road crossings, 98 culverts, and 60 service passages.
Construction of the railway embankment is currently underway.

No major overhaul had been carried out on this section since 1967, resulting in train speeds ranging between 10 and 60 km/h.
Once the reconstruction is completed, train speeds will increase significantly, ensuring faster, more reliable, and uninterrupted railway services. The project will create a modern railway infrastructure linking Yevlakh and Khankendi.
