26 March 2023 13:00
Since the beginning of 2023, more than 250 earthquakes with magnitudes from 2.8 to 6.8 have been registered in Uzbekistan and on the territories of neighboring countries bordering it.
According to Caliber.Az, such data of the Republican Center for Seismic Predictive Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were announced at a briefing at the Information and Mass Communications Agency on March 26.
Over the past 10 years, 6 earthquakes with a magnitude of 6-8 points have been observed in the country. Frequent earthquakes are natural for this region, since it is geographically located in the Mediterranean-Asian seismic belt, experts noted at a briefing in Tashkent.
