G7 countries to advocate for stricter regulation of crypto-assets

    WORLD  26 March 2023 - 12:27

The Group of Seven (G7) countries intend to jointly promote the need for stricter regulation of crypto-assets.

It is underlined that this issue is planned to be reflected in a joint statement of G7 leaders at the end of the forthcoming summit in Hiroshima in May, TASS reported on March 26 via Kyodo agency.

According to the agency's sources, the G7 countries consider it necessary to work out a legislative base aimed at protection of holders of crypto-assets amid the emerging crisis of the world banking system.

Japan is chairing the G7 this year and will hold a summit of the association in Hiroshima from May 18-22.
