Finnish NATO accession to be finalised in next few days, says president

Finland's membership in NATO will be finalized within the next few days.

Finnish President Sauli Niinistö gave that message to Ekot, the news service of the Swedish national radio broadcasting company Sveriges Radio, on March 29.

Regarding Sweden's NATO application, Niinistö said he has a positive view of it and he has discussed Sweden's membership during his visit to Türkiye.

The announcement is in line with information to Ekot from the staff at the Turkish Parliament who say that there will be a vote on Finland's membership late on March 30 afternoon.
