Voter turnout quite high in Turkish elections, says Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the voter turnout in the presidential elections is quite high.

He made the remarks after voting in the second round of elections On May 28, Caliber.Az reports.

Erdogan noted a second round of presidential elections has taken place for the first time in Türkiye's history with the voters showing quite high turnout.

The Turkish incumbent president once again called on voters to be more active in voting: "We can't relax. Everyone must exercise their right to vote."

In the first round of the elections, held on May 14, Recep Tayyip Erdogan got 49.52 per cent of the votes, while Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the leader of the opposition, got 44.88 per cent and Sinan Ogan, the candidate from the ATA alliance got 5.17 per cent. Voter turnout was 88.92 per cent.
