Armenian PM confirms attendance at Moscow's Victory Day celebrations
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has confirmed that he will travel to Moscow, Russia on May 9 to participate in the 80th anniversary celebrations of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In response to questions from reporters on May 7, Pashinyan stated, "Yes, I will go", Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
This announcement follows a March 14 phone talk between Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the Armenian leader accepted the invitation to attend the historic event in Moscow.
Around 20 world leaders are expected to attend the celebrations in Moscow marking the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. In addition to the heads of CIS countries, who traditionally attend the May 9 festivities, the presidents of Brazil and Burkina Faso are also expected, along with the leaders of Venezuela and Vietnam, the president of Serbia and the prime minister of Slovakia.
