Frankfurt-bound Air Astana flight makes emergency landing in Aktobe
An Air Astana flight travelling from Astana to Frankfurt made an emergency landing in Aktobe on May 8 due to a technical issue, the airline confirmed.
According to the company’s press service, cited by Kazakh media, the aircraft operating flight KC921 departed Astana at 08:54 and safely landed in Aktobe at 11:34 after the crew decided to divert in line with standard safety procedures.
“The aircraft operating flight KC921 on May 8 on the route Astana – Frankfurt departed from Astana at 08:54 and landed in Aktobe at 11:34 due to a technical reason. The crew of the aircraft made the decision to land in accordance with standard safety procedures. The landing was carried out normally.”
To minimise disruption, Air Astana dispatched a reserve aircraft from Almaty to transport passengers to their destination.
“The departure of the flight with passengers from Aktobe is scheduled for today at 14:20. The airline apologises to passengers for the inconvenience caused,” the airline said.
