Azerbaijan, North Macedonia discuss normalisation of Azerbaijani-Armenian ties
Assistant First Vice President Elchin Amirbekov, Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski and Macedonian Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi discussed the post-conflict normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The meetings took place in Skopje, as part of Amirbekov’s working visit to North Macedonia, Report informs.
The Azerbaijani official briefed his counterparts on the normalisation process, with particular stress on the necessity of Yerevan's strict fulfilment of its commitments, in particular the immediate and final withdrawal of its armed forces from Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region and the creation of the conditions for opening the transport communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
The first vice president expressed hope that the official Skopje, as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, would lend its full support to the peace agenda put forward by Azerbaijan, the implementation of which would contribute to the security, stability and development of the entire South Caucasus region.
