Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan discuss state border delimitation issues
The Tajik and Kyrgyz governmental delegations have held a joint meeting on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border between the two countries in the Kyrgyz town of Batken.
The Tajik delegation was headed by Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Saimumin Yatimov while the Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said, Caliber.Az reports citing the Tajik media.
The views on the delimitation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border were exchanged during the meeting.
The heads of the delegations expressed full mutual understanding about the need to intensify further description of the passage of the project line of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border in the remaining sections.
Relevant instructions were given to the working groups.
Topographic working groups and working groups on legal issues of the Tajik and Kyrgyz governmental delegations on delimitation and demarcation of the state border will continue describing the project line of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border in the remaining sections.
The need was noted during the meeting to strengthen friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the border regions, as well as to continue cooperation between the border regions and districts of the two countries.
A protocol was signed following the joint meeting.
