Iran considers joining Interstate Aviation Committee
Iran is considering the possibility of joining the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), Oleg Storchevoy, chairman of the organization has said.
"Iranian colleagues have expressed interest in joining the agreement. This possibility will be discussed by the Council of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the participating states, after which the IAC will prepare the relevant legal framework," Storchevoy, told Izvestia.
It is noted that such a proposal was put forward during negotiations with Iranian aviation authorities this spring.
The Interstate Aviation Committee is an executive body of the Civil Aviation and Airspace Use Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which was formed in 1991 according to the Civil Aviation and Airspace Use Multilateral Agreement, signed on 25 December 1991.
