Over 1,700 Armenian trucks waiting to pass via Lars checkpoint

Over 1,700 Armenian trucks are waiting to pass through the Upper Lars multilateral automobile checkpoint from both the Georgian and Russian sides of the border.

The road through "Upper Lars" has been closed for vans since the evening of November 26 due to unfavourable weather conditions, Vahan Hakobyan, customs attaché of the Armenian Embassy in Russia, told Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

"A total of 800 Armenian vans are waiting to pass through Lars from the Georgian side, and about 900 heavy trucks from Russia to Georgia," Hakobyan said.

Currently, only passenger cars are allowed to drive through Lars in both directions.
