France continues to arm Armenia

Some 24 armoured vehicles of Bastion type manufactured by the French Arquus Group have been sent to Armenia.

As Caliber.Az reports, 26 more vehicles of the same type, which are currently under production, are to be added to them.

Armenia recently signed an order for three GM2 200 radars from Thales and negotiations are underway for the supply of MISTRAL 3 anti-aircraft missile systems.

To recap, on October 23, 2023, French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu said that France is helping Armenia improve its air defence capabilities through the sale of three GM 200 radars and an agreement on future supplies of Mistral anti-aircraft missiles.

He also noted that France will help Armenia prepare its ground defence forces and will support the country's efforts to reform and modernise its Armed Forces.

The defence ministers of France and Armenia signed an agreement for the sale of three GM 200 radars manufactured by Thales and a memorandum of understanding regarding the future supply of French Mistral short-range air defence systems.
