Russia reports mass shoot-down of Ukrainian drones

The Russian Ministry of Defence has reported that its air defence forces shot down 53 drones belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces in five regions of Russia overnight and this morning, 44 of them in the Rostov region.

"Last night and in the early hours of April 5, attempts by the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks using aircraft-type drones against facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation were foiled," the ministry said in a statement, TASS reports.

It added that the air defence systems on duty intercepted and destroyed UAVs over the territories of the Rostov region (44 UAVs), Saratov (1 UAV), Kursk (1 UAV) and Belgorod (1 UAV), as well as over the territory of the Krasnodar region (6 UAVs).
