4.5-magnitude earthquake hits Iran, no casualties reported so far

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck Iran’s Khuzestan Province at 11:59 local time, with tremors felt in border areas of Khuzestan, Ilam and Lorestan provinces in western and southwestern Iran, according to the US Geological Survey.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake so far.
The previous destructive earthquake in Iran occurred in Razavi Khorasan Province in May 2025, killing approximately 30 people.
Iran is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, with approximately 575 identified fault lines. Earthquakes of varying intensity are common, often resulting in significant casualties and destruction.
