About 900 Armenian trucks stuck in queue at Upper Lars checkpoint

The queue of trucks waiting to cross the Russian-Georgian border at the Upper Lars checkpoint in North Ossetia numbers more than 2,700 vehicles.
As of the morning of July 29, 2,734 trucks are registered in the electronic queue, Caliber.Az reports, citing the website of the Traffic Management Centre of North Ossetia.
As many as 847 of the trucks have Armenian registration numbers.
On 26 July, traffic through the Verkhny Lars checkpoint was prohibited for several hours due to mudslides, but later the road was reopened.
The Georgian Military Road is the only functioning land route linking Armenia with Russia (via Georgia).
