AFP: Tehran residents celebrate following reports of Khamenei’s death

Shouts of celebration and applause have been reported across different areas of Tehran following news that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reports, citing eyewitnesses.

According to the agency, some Iranians have been approaching windows, clapping, and playing celebratory music. At the same time, pro-government rallies were held in the country on 28 February.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Khamenei’s body had been found, citing an Israeli source, though there has been no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding his fate.
