Armenian military expert Hayk Nagapetyan has said that after the victory Azerbaijan gained weight in the eyes of Europe.

"There are three main players in our region, from whose steps, from whose interests the status of the three republics of the South Caucasus derives. These three states are Russia, Türkiye and Iran. And if earlier Türkiye was represented in all relations only with Great Britain and the US, representing the collective West, now Türkiye's influence in the region is quite high, and it is trying first of all to represent its interests in the region, and not to become a tool, for example, for the superpower US," Nagapetyan said in his interview with an Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

At the same time, of course, the decision of the three states will be transformed, the spheres of influence will change. And now the collective West and, first of all, the United States realize that their influence in the region, say, in Azerbaijan and Georgia, has significantly weakened. Even the fact that Georgia did not join the sanctions against Russia was nonsense. After the victory, Azerbaijan also became stronger in terms of weight, the country became quite profitable for the EU with its gas and oil, as well as a transit country. And the pressure on Azerbaijan is not particularly great to completely turn into a tool. The same is with Türkiye. Türkiye often plays a mediating role with Russia in the region, and this means a real increase in its role.

Now in this situation, Armenia is trying to bring an EU country to the region, saying ‘take control of our country, arm it’. And France has a century of experience with a colonial system of governance, developed mechanisms of how countries like ours can be sacrificed or auctioned off after such support. Let's say, after realization, take them to the slaughterhouse. They enjoy that experience.

As for armament, I have said it many times that France intends to give us three radars, and self-propelled surface-to-air missile systems, which by and large are of little importance to our armed forces. And why am I not happy about the Indian armaments, they are raw, in the sense that they have hardly been used on the battlefield. However, despite this, it should be noted that Indian weapons are certainly better than French ones," the expert underlined.
