Air Astana plane bound for Dubai forced to make unexpected return

An Air Astana aircraft operating flight KC205 from Astana to Dubai was forced to return to its departure airport on the morning of July 12.

The plane turned back shortly after taking off at 7:10 a.m. and returned to Astana, according to Kazakh media.

The airline also canceled flight KC897 from Almaty to Dubai, which had been scheduled to depart at 8:50 a.m.

Air Astana said the changes were prompted by the escalating situation in the Middle East. Passengers on the canceled flight have been promised full refunds for their tickets.

The carrier said it is closely monitoring developments and working on arrangements for affected passengers.

Air Astana also advised travelers to check their flight status in advance, warning that further changes to departure and arrival schedules remain possible.
